Wings Healthy Children's Program
The Wings Healthy Children's Program is a United Way initiative designed to help parents and families raise healthy children. Wings uses monthly home visits and educational meetings to enhance understanding of child development and improve parenting skills.
Assessment tools are provided to parents to ensure that children are developing at age-appropriate time frames.
Wings is committed to helping parents gain confidence in their parenting skills by utilizing a combination of research-based curriculum, monthly group meetings with other parents and monthly one-on-one home visits by a case manager.
The Wings Program strives to help parenting teens by addressing the following issues:
- Education
- Proper growth and development
- Finances
- Family communication
Wings provides a variety of services, including the following:
- Nutrition coaching
- Parenting classes
- Postpartum support
- Resource library
- Referrals for housing and day care
- Continuing education support
- Community resources
Enrollment Qualifications:
- Live in Jasper or Newton counties
- Parent of a child less than 3 years of age
- Meet income eligibility criteria
