Loaned Executive Program
Every year the United Way of Southwest Missouri & Southeast Kansas partners with organizations in the four-state area to change lives.
The Loaned Executive program provides hands-on training in leadership, presentation, project management, organizational and communication skills.
Each year the United Way assigns Loaned Executives to assist the Campaign Cabinet in one or more of the following areas:
- Assist with the development and execution of employee campaigns.
- Make presentations to United Way businesses and groups of employees.
- Provide written and verbal progress reports to United Way staff.
The Loaned Executive program benefits your company and the volunteer in many ways:
- Professional training in sales, presentation, leadership and negotiation skills
- Valuable contacts in the business community
- Opportunities for self-development and the creation of a more polished, experienced and confident employee
Your company can participate in the Loaned Executive program in one of the following two ways:
- Loan an employee to United Way for the months of August through November
- Sponsor a Loaned Executive by donating the funds necessary for United Way to hire a quality, temporary employee
Typically, there are three types of Loaned Executive candidates:
- Promising career professionals seeking to develop their leadership skills
- Dedicated employees facing downsizing or restructuring
- Recent retirees or volunteers hoping to put their work experience to use bettering the four-state area
