Community Focus Groups

To better assess the needs of the Jasper and Newton counties area, the United Way of Southwest Missouri is partnering with the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, the Alliance of Southwest Missouri, Community Health Collaborative, and the Workforce Investment Board to promote community discussion on the issues of education, income and health/safety.

Each focus group centered discussion around the areas of education, income and health/safety to identify our community's greatest strengths and weaknesses. In September, a Community Summit was held to address the greatest needs in the community by incorporating information from these focus groups and statistical data.
